On Saturday April 1st, Douglas Park in Newton Stewart was heaving with families enjoying an Easter Fun Day. Newton Stewart Initiative, in collaboration with Youthworks DG and Galloway Hillbillies came together to put on a fantastic event. Over 150 picnic lunches were handed out to children, Douglas the Clown entertained the kids with plate spinning and balloon making. Faces were painted, crafts were made and an Easter egg hunt meant all of the children received a chocolate Easter egg. Inflatables and bouncy castles allowed the kids to jump to their hearts content, picnic blankets were down and TaylFin, local students from Douglas Ewart entertained the crowd with their live music. The event was a great success with the sun shining and a huge thanks to everyone who made the event possible. Funding gratefully received from Holywood Trust and National Lottery Community Funding.
