As a key anchor organisation in Newton Stewart we work with, and have worked with many groups and organisations as partners in the projects we have done.
NSI worked with the Galloway Hillbillies to build and establish a BMX track at Douglas Park, which the Galloway Hillbillies continue to use on a weekly basis offering BMX sessions.
The annual Green Fayre, recently held at Vibe 75, has been run in partnership with the GSA Biosphere for the last three years.
A Here to Help fayre was created in partnership with the Public Health Machars Improvement Team ( NHS) and A Listening Ear, to bring together a variety of voluntary organisations under one roof for our local community to see what services were available to them.
NSI Youthwork team works closely with Youthwork DG to run weekly activities for young people, as well as putting on events such as Easter Fun Day and Halloween events. NSI Youthwork also works closely with the Douglas Ewart High School. In early 2025, the Future Builders attended Happy Daze, a local reminiscence group, providing hot drinks and refreshments to attendees.
Our biannual events flyer brings together events in the DG8 area and offers advertising to local groups, organisations and small businesses to contribute towards the cost of posting the flyer out to every DG8 household.
NSI work with the Cree Valley Community Council, supporting them to run a weekly community coffee and chat at Vibe 75. NSI have supported through funding applications and promoting the event on the website and social media.
NSI worked with the Cree Valley Community Council and Cree Valley Area Development Trust to create the Local Place Plan for Newton Stewart and Minnigaff.
