Following the approval of the Community Asset Transfer by NSI for the Old Town Hall, the decision was sent to the Economic and Infrastructure Committee to approve on Tuesday 3rd June. Unfortunately the committee chose to defer the decision until their next meeting on the 2nd September. This was based on ‘potential’ legal charges being added by D&G Council following the approval of the CAT.
The CAT decision has to go back to the Wigtown Area Committee in August, which has been scheduled thanks to our local ward officer before it can go back to the Economic and Infrastructure Committee in September.
We will keep you updated following the September meeting. There will be legal paperwork that will need checking and signing before returning to DG Council, but we are trying to get into the building and see it utilised as soon as possible.
